Barcelona claim dominant Supercopa victory over Real Madrid

Barcelona dominated the match in Saudi Arabia, taking the lead with a goal from 18-year-old Gavi, assisted by Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski then returned the favor by finishing from Gavi’s pass just before halftime.

Gavi added another assist in the second half, setting up Pedri, while Karim Benzema scored a late goal for Real Madrid.

Despite some impressive saves from Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid were unable to match Barcelona’s performance and the match ended with a win for Barcelona, making them the Super Cup champions for the first time since 2018.

Gavi, who also broke the record for youngest scorer in a Spanish Super Cup, has played a key role in Barcelona’s current success as they sit at the top of La Liga, three points ahead of Real Madrid, and have a nine-game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
