Nottingham Forest earns important point with 1-1 draw against Chelsea

Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 against Chelsea, boosting their chances of staying in the Premier League.

This is a strong result for Forest, as they have already defeated Liverpool and Tottenham at home this season and put in a good performance against Chelsea.

Forest fell behind due to Raheem Sterling’s goal against the run of play, but fought back with a strong second half, leading to Serge Aurier’s equalizer.

Although Morgan Gibbs-White hit the crossbar and Forest may have deserved to win, the draw still gives them encouragement in their efforts to avoid relegation.

Chelsea managed to avoid a fourth consecutive away defeat, but will need to improve significantly to close the seven-point gap between them and the top four.

Forest had a good start to the game and forced Kepa Arrizabalaga to make two saves, but Christian Pulisic’s cross, which was poorly cleared by Willy Boly, allowed Sterling to score the rebound.

In the second half, Forest had a good chance early on and eventually earned the equalizing goal.
