Man City knocks out Arsenal in the FA Cup

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday, with Nathan Ake scoring the winning goal.

The victory not only eliminated Arsenal from the cup, but also gave City a psychological edge in the race for the English Premier League title.

Despite Arsenal’s five-point lead and seven-game unbeaten streak, City has now won three consecutive games in all competitions. The two teams will face off again in a top-of-the-table match on February 15.

City manager Pep Guardiola gained an advantage over his former assistant, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Ake’s goal came in the 64th minute after a long-range effort from substitute Julian Alvarez struck the post.

Despite having the better of the first half, Arsenal couldn’t convert their chances, allowing City to improve and secure the win.

Both teams left key players out of the lineup to prioritize their league encounters.
