LFP governing body blocks deal for Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech to join PSG
Ligue 1: Paris Saint-Germain’s bid to bring Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea on loan was rejected by the French League (LFP), as per a source close to the deal.
PSG requested the LFP to authorize the deal despite the required paperwork being submitted after Tuesday’s French transfer deadline.
The club failed to submit the necessary documents in time, causing Ziyech’s move to fall through.
PSG then sought special approval from the LFP, which was declined. Ziyech was aimed to reinforce PSG’s attack after the exit of Pablo Sarabia, but the Ligue 1 leaders were unable to sign any new players in the winter window.
They also failed to acquire Inter Milan’s center-back Milan Skriniar, who will stay with the Italian club until the end of the season.
