Julian Nagelsmann Commits to Germany National Team Until 2026 World Cup
Germany national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann has extended his contract until at least the FIFA 2026 World Cup, postponing a potential return to club management despite interest from top European clubs like Bayern Munich.
The decision, announced by the German Soccer Association (DFB), precedes this summer’s UEFA Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany.

Nagelsmann expressed that coaching the national team is an honor and emphasized his commitment to achieving success in the upcoming Euros.
Notably, recent victories against France and the Netherlands, alongside strong support from fans, influenced his choice to continue in international management.
DFB officials, including national team director Rudi Voeller and Association President Bernd Neuendorf, highlighted their confidence in Nagelsmann’s leadership before Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, after missing out on Nagelsmann and other potential candidates like Xabi Alonso, now faces the challenge of identifying a new head coach, with an Italian manager from Brighton and Hove Albion emerging as a likely frontrunner for the position.
