Chelsea and Manchester United Eyeing Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of Ferland Mendy, the 28-year-old left-back from Real Madrid.
According to reports, Chelsea is keen on signing Mendy at the end of the season. Although they already have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as left-back options, Cucurella’s performance has been underwhelming since joining Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid currently has Ferland Mendy and Fran García as options for the left-back position in their squad.
However, reports suggest that they are interested in pursuing Alphonso Davies in the summer transfer window.
If Davies joins, Real Madrid might consider cashing in on Mendy and keeping Garcia as a long-term prospect. Mendy’s quality could make him a valuable addition for Chelsea, especially considering his Premier League potential.
However, Chelsea won’t be able to offer European football next season, which could impact the deal. Manchester United is also interested in Mendy, as they seek to strengthen their left-back department.
Luke Shaw’s injury history and Tyrell Malacia’s limited playtime create a need for additional quality and depth.
Bayern Munich has also been mentioned as a potential destination for Mendy. It remains to be seen which club will secure the services of this talented defender.
Additionally, Manchester United is exploring the possibility of signing Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic, whose contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, Manchester United, and other clubs are keeping an eye on 15-year-old wonderkid Julian Hall, who recently made history as the second-youngest debutant in Major League Soccer (MLS) and is considered one of the United States’ biggest prospects.
The transfer market is buzzing with activity, and these clubs are actively scouting talent to strengthen their squads.
