Barcelona extend Marcos Alonso’s contract

La Liga: Barcelona defender Marcos Alonso has extended his contract with the club for an additional season until 2024.

The Spanish club announced the agreement in a statement, noting that Alonso’s buyout clause is set at €50 million.

Alonso joined Barcelona from Chelsea in September and has scored two goals in 19 appearances, helping the team win the Spanish Super Cup.

Prior to joining Barcelona, Alonso spent six years at Chelsea, winning the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and an English Premier League title.
