Video Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a free kick from 35 yards out
After scoring a free-kick that helped his team secure a comeback win against Abha and keep their Saudi Pro League title hopes alive, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his happiness at scoring in front of Al Nassr’s fans.
The Portuguese forward, who was recently selected for Roberto Martinez’s first Portugal squad, equalized the scores with only 12 minutes left in the match.
Nassr, who were second in the league, were trailing 1-0 and appeared to be heading towards a disappointing loss before Ronaldo’s goal, his first in four games, and Anderson Talisca’s penalty in the 86th minute secured the crucial three points.
Abha played the final ten minutes with only ten men. Nassr’s win brought them within a point of leaders Al Ittihad with nine matches remaining. Al Ittihad had earlier thrashed Al Fateh 5-1 on Saturday.
