Real Sociedad claimed a big 3-1 win over Benfica in the second leg of their Champions League group stage match on Wednesday.

Real Sociedad took a two-goal lead in the first half through Mikel Merino in the sixth minute, Mikel Oyarzabal in the 11th minute and Ander Barrenetxea in the 21st minute.

Benfica pulled one back in the second half through Gonçalo Ramos in the 49th minute.

The win sees Real Sociedad qualify for the Champions League last 16, where they top Group C with 10 points, three points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan. Benfica have been eliminated from the competition.
