Toni Kroos will retire after EURO 2024

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has announced his decision to retire from football at the end of the season, effective immediately after this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament.

The iconic Germany star, who has won over a century of caps, initially retired from national team action in mid-2021 but returned at the request of Julian Nagelsmann earlier this year.

Before bidding farewell to his playing career, Kroos will play a central role for Germany during the European Championship.

His retirement post on Instagram expressed gratitude to Real Madrid and its fans, emphasizing that the club will always be his last.

Over his decade-long career at Madrid, he won four league titles, five Club World Cups, and four Champions League titles.

Additionally, he has international honors, including winning the 2014 World Cup.

Euro 2024 will be his final attempt to add to his collection of achievements.
