Thuram’s Brace Powers Inter to 4-0 Win Over Atalanta

Inter Milan delivered a commanding performance against Atalanta Bergamo, securing a 4-0 victory in their Serie A clash, thanks to a stellar display by Marcus Thuram.

The French international netted twice, propelling Inter to the top of the league standings.

The match kicked off with an early own goal by Atalanta’s Berat Djimsiti, who inadvertently redirected Thuram’s cross into his own net just three minutes in.

Inter’s dominance continued as Nicolò Barella doubled the lead with a stunning strike from outside the box in the 10th minute.

Thuram, who had a quiet Euro 2024, found his form in the second half. He scored his first goal of the night in the 47th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Atalanta.

Just nine minutes later, he struck again, sealing the victory and bringing his season tally to four goals.

Inter’s victory was a statement of intent, showcasing their strength and depth even without their usual captain and top scorer, Lautaro Martinez, who started on the bench.

This win puts Inter at the top of the Serie A table, ahead of Torino, who had briefly taken the lead earlier in the day with a win over Venezia.

Atalanta, on the other hand, struggled to cope with Inter’s pace and precision, leaving them in 11th place with just three points from three matches.

Inter Milan’s next challenge will be against AS Roma, while Atalanta will look to bounce back against Fiorentina.
