Kane brace sends Tottenham on their way to much-needed victory

Tottenham Hotspur crushed Crystal Palace 4-0 in a London derby at Selhurst Park. Harry Kane, who was making his 300th Premier League appearance, scored two goals, while Matt Doherty and Son Heung-min added to the tally.

The win puts Tottenham on 33 points from 18 matches, two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have played one more game. Palace sit in 12th place with 22 points from 17 games.

The first half ended goalless, but Kane headed in Ivan Perisic’s cross just three minutes into the second half, and quickly added a second by chipping in a pass from Bryan Gil.

The victory eases the pressure on Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who had seen his team lose four of their previous seven Premier League matches, including a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at home on Sunday.
