Inter beat Milan 2-0 to take command of Champions League semi
Inter Milan dominated their city rivals AC Milan in the semi-final, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory in the first half.
Although they missed several opportunities after taking an early lead, the Nerazzurri could have easily extended their lead in the return leg at the San Siro next week.
Despite doubts surrounding their abilities following their exit from the Premier League, Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan proved their worth in the semi-final, scoring crucial goals that placed Inter in a commanding position.
Their contributions extended beyond just scoring, with Dzeko’s imposing physical presence posing a constant threat to Milan’s defence and Mkhitaryan’s impressive midfield play dictating much of Inter’s game before being substituted for the more defensive Marcelo Brozovic.
As Inter prepares for the return leg, Dzeko and Mkhitaryan will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in maintaining their lead and securing their spot in the final.
