France Held to Scoreless Draw by Canada in Euros Warm-Up

France, heavy favorites for the upcoming Euros, were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Canada in their final warm-up match on Sunday.

With star striker Kylian Mbappé recovering from a minor injury, coach Didier Deschamps opted to experiment with his attacking line-up. Olivier Giroud led the attack in his usual central role, flanked by Marcus Thuram and Ousmane Dembélé. Antoine Griezmann was deployed in a more withdrawn support role.

However, the France attack struggled to find its rhythm against a motivated Canada side. Canada, smarting from a 4-0 defeat to the Netherlands in their previous outing, displayed a determined defensive display that frustrated the French throughout the match.

Despite bringing on Mbappé as a late substitute, France was unable to break the deadlock. The youngster nearly snatched a dramatic winner in the dying moments, but his effort went just wide.

The draw leaves some question marks hanging over the French team’s attacking cohesion heading into the Euros. Deschamps will be hoping Mbappé recovers full fitness and that his attacking players can gel quickly as they prepare for their opening match.
