FA CUP
Casemiro and Fred helps Man Utd past Reading
When Manchester United great Paul Ince returned to Old Trafford as the manager of Reading, his team was defeated by a defensive midfielder who had an eye for goal, reminiscent of Ince’s own playing days.
Despite Reading’s admirable efforts, Casemiro scored a five-minute brace, securing United’s 11th consecutive win at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Andy Carroll’s dismissal for a clumsy challenge on Casemiro was a low point for the former Liverpool striker, who had previously played in the 2012 FA Cup final for United’s rivals.
Despite Marcus Rashford’s efforts to set a new record for consecutive goals at Old Trafford, the team was able to secure progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
