Barcelona increased their La Liga lead to 8 points after Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski scored in a tough 2-1 victory over Real Betis on Wednesday.

Barca sits at the top with 50 points, 8 points ahead of second place Real Madrid who have one game left and will face Valencia on Thursday. Real Betis stands at sixth with 31 points.

It took Barcelona 65 minutes to open the scoring with Raphinha’s close-range goal, followed by Lewandowski’s score from a corner 15 minutes later after his return from a three-game suspension.

In the 85th minute, Barcelona’s defender Jules Kounde scored an own goal while trying to clear Youssouf Sabaly’s cross, but the team held on to secure the three points. After the final whistle, Real Betis’s William Carvalho received a red card for complaining to the referee.
