The Red Devils, ranked number 3 in the world, were looking to appease their fans after a surprising upset in their first match. They did just that, putting on a strong display in front of their Belgian royal family at Cologne Stadium.
The win was secured thanks to goals from Youri Tielemans and Kevin De Bruyne. Tielemans struck early, finding the net just 73 seconds into the game. De Bruyne then sealed the deal with a late goal, putting the game out of reach for Romania.
This win keeps Belgium’s Euro hopes alive. With all four teams in Group E currently on three points, the final group stage match will be a tense affair. Belgium will need to continue their winning ways if they want to progress to the knockout stages.
