Ange’s Magic: Spurs Maintain Perfect Record in Premier League
Micky van de Ven’s inaugural goal in English football propelled a 10-man Tottenham side to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 triumph against Luton on Saturday.
Tottenham came into this match fresh from a contentious 2-1 victory over Liverpool the previous weekend, where Jürgen Klopp’s team had a valid goal disallowed due to a “significant human error” by VAR operator Darren England.
This meant that Ange Postecoglou’s squad could claim the top spot, at least temporarily, with three points at Kenilworth Road. However, achieving this proved to be a challenging task after Yves Bissouma received a red card in first-half stoppage time.
Bissouma was cautioned twice in quick succession by referee John Brooks, with the second booking attributed to simulation. Nonetheless, Van de Ven’s close-range strike in the 52nd minute secured a hard-fought victory for Tottenham.
