Barcelona targeting deal for Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech

Hakim Ziyech is reportedly eager to join Barcelona before the January transfer window closes, as he seeks a way out of Chelsea.

The 29-year-old Morocco international arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2020, and has played 97 games for Chelsea, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists.

However, he has not been able to replicate the form that made him a star at Ajax, and speculation about his future has risen.

Chelsea’s recent transfer activity may make it difficult for Ziyech to earn regular playing time, and he has had a disappointing 2022-23 season so far, with just one assist in 14 appearances.

According to Sport, Ziyech is actively seeking a move to Barcelona, which is said to be interested, following the departure of Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid.

However, Barcelona may face competition for his signature, as other clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation, as Ziyech had a strong World Cup for Morocco in 2022.
