Milan lose ground with draw at Lecce
AC Milan’s struggles continued as they were forced to come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Lecce, further falling behind in the Serie A title race.
Lecce took a 2-goal lead with a Theo Hernandez own goal and a header from Federico Baschirotto, but Milan managed to salvage a point with goals from Rafael Leao and Davide Calabria.
Despite moving back into second place, Milan is now 9 points behind Napoli. Inter Milan is now level with Juventus, one point behind Milan, after a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona.
This follows a series of disappointing results for Milan, including a 2-2 draw with Roma, elimination from the Italian Cup by Torino, and a poor start against Lecce.
