Here is the result of the FIFA Club World Cup draw
Morocco will host the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, featuring seven teams from different continents. The draw for the tournament took place in Morocco, with clubs discovering their path to the world title.
This edition will be the last to be played in its current format, as a new expanded version is set to debut in 2025.
The Red Devils, Ahly, earned a spot in the competition as a result of Morocco being chosen as the host country, despite finishing as runners-up in the African Champions League last season.
Regulations prohibit more than one club from the host country from participating in the tournament, with Casablanca-based side Wydad already set to take part as reigning African champions.
This marks Ahly’s third straight appearance in the tournament, having finished in third place in their previous two participations.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, Seattle Sounders of USA, Flamengo of Brazil, Auckland City, and Real Madrid of Spain are also set to participate, with Real Madrid holding the most successful club in the tournament’s history, having won four titles.
